Featured Story: Ti’Andre’s All-Star Journey
“Growing up, Ti’Andre says the alternatives after school were limited—and without After-School All-Stars, he believes he could easily have been drawn into a gang simply to have a place to belong. Instead, SFASAS gave him mentors, opportunities, and a positive community that helped put him on a different path. Today, 10 years later, Ti’Andre has built a successful career and a family of his own—a powerful example of how the right support at the right time can change the course of a young person’s life.”
Riane
Riane Cato joined After-School All-Stars as a middle school student, where tutoring and mentorship helped her succeed academically, build confidence, and discover new interests. Now an 11th grader at Miami Jackson Senior High School, Riane has gone from receiving support to giving it—mentoring younger students, coaching volleyball, and leading by example. “After-School All-Stars helped me come out of my shell, improve my communication skills, and feel more confident. Now, in high school, I help mentor others.”
