Fall Campaign: Keeping the Lights On

For 30 years, South Florida After-School All-Stars has helped young people across South Florida learn, grow, discover their talents, and prepare for bright futures through safe, enriching after-school and summer programs.

This year, we need our community’s help. Government grants that have been a cornerstone of our funding for many years have been reduced, leaving us with a funding gap of more than $1 million. While our funding has changed, our commitment to South Florida’s children has not.

We have launched our Keeping the Lights On, a fundraising and awareness campaign this fall, in conjunction with the Afterschool Alliance nationwide Lights On Afterschool initiative. The campaign celebrates the important role after-school and summer programs play in the community while calling on the South Florida community to help bridge a significant funding gap.

Through our Keeping the Lights On Fall Campaign, we’re asking individuals, businesses, foundations, and community partners to invest in the young people in our own community.

BECOME A MONTHLY ALL-STAR — $30 FOR 30 YEARS

In honor of our 30th anniversary, we have a goal of welcoming 300 new monthly donors.

Will you join us with a gift of $30 a month?

Your monthly gift provides reliable, ongoing support that helps us plan ahead and continue providing the programs, people, and experiences our students count on throughout the year.

And when our community comes together, $30 adds up:

300 people giving $30 a month = $108,000 a year to support our All-Stars.

How $30 Provides Possibilities:

  • $60,000 covers the cost of a full school site for a year of comprehensive after-school programming. Can’t give $30? Choose an amount that works for you. Every monthly gift makes a difference.
  • $30 goes towards program supplies, snacks, and enrichment activities.
  • $300 helps provide specialized programming and mentoring that builds academic confidence and life skills.
  • $1,200 offers one year of after-school programming for one student—about $ 6 per day.
  • $3,000 supports high-impact experiences, from STEM projects and career exploration to leadership development.
  • $50,000 funds the cost of a full summer program for one site.

Your Support Helps Provide:

  • Academic support and tutoring
  • STEM, arts, sports, and enrichment programs
  • Caring teachers and mentors
  • College and career exploration
  • Leadership and community service opportunities
  • Safe, engaging after-school and summer experiences

90% of the funds we raise go directly to our programs and the children we serve.
