Our History & Growth
Since 1994, SFASAS has proudly served thousands of students across South Florida, offering tailored programs in health & wellness, STEAM, arts, career exploration, and academic readiness. Last year alone, we empowered over 5,000 students at 51 sites, with 99% youth of color and 89% qualifying for free or reduced lunch.
We keep administrative overhead low—just 8%—so resources directly benefit students.
Our holistic approach combines academic support, enrichment activities, mental health resources, and family engagement—creating a safe and inspiring environment where every child can thrive.
Our rich history began in 1992, driven by our founder and former Chairman of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Today, After-School All-Stars (ASAS) is currently serving over 150,000 students annually at 740 sites within 80 cities, through 18 chapters.
For almost 30 years, South Florida After-School All-Stars (SFASAS) has been the region’s leading and trusted provider of free, high-quality after-school and summer programs. Partnering with Miami-Dade Public Schools, community organizations, and leaders in education, we serve over 5,000 students across 51 school sites—helping youth in grades 6–12 excel in school, discover their passions, and prepare for bright futures
